We all try our best to drink enough water throughout the day. But dehydration affects us inside and out, so chugging your bottle isn’t necessarily going to cut it.

Moisturizing from the inside out.

Drinking lots of water is not the only way to hydrate, though it does help. There are ways to make this water go a little further and replenish your body’s reserves regularly. Follow these 3 rules for internal hydration:

Eat your water

Eating hydrating fruits while drinking water can more than double your hydration. Think of using watermelon or cucumber to go with your glass of water.

Drink Smart

Adding chia seeds or lemon juice to your water helps you absorb the water better. Chia seeds for example can absorb 10 times their weight in water.

Sleep Well

Your body needs its rest to restore the fluid balance in your system. If you don’t sleep well, you’ll likely wake up dehydrated. So, make sure to counteract this by rehydrating with all the above tricks.

Moisturizing from the outside in.

Your skin needs more hydration than you think. A basic moisturizer alone isn’t going to cover all the bases. If you get into the habit of layering hydration, then you’ll feel like you’ve just had a facial... EVERY DAY.

The general rule for layering your moisturizers is to start with the one with the greatest water content and move towards the thickest moisturizer. The other rule is not to wait too long or get distracted between washing your face and moisturizing, too much time and your skin will get dry and damaged.

Step 1

After cleansing, use plenty of facial toner directly on your damp skin. We recommend around 8 sprays, this may sound like a lot but watch your skin drink it up. If within a minute your skin starts to dry up, then go for more!

Step 2

This is the step most people don’t realize is essential. You have to massage the toner into your skin for an added level of hydration. Tap and evenly distribute the toner with your fingers to help your skin absorb it.

Step 3

Apply your eye treatment gently on your eyes using your finger tips to tap on the eye area including the brows and lashes. Any extra can be used on your lips- whatever’s good for your eyes is good for your lips too!

Step 4

Apply a small amount of face elixir to your hands and rub them for even coverage. Pat your hands across your face and press for better absorption. Extra can be applied to the backs of your hands.

Step 5

For dry skin (or climates), swap the face elixir for a pea sized amount of antioxidant moisturizer. Alternatively, if you only have dry areas, stick with the face elixir but add a dab of the antioxidant moisturizer only where needed.

Now, if you are satisfied with the how and not bothered by the why, feel free to stop reading here. If you are one of the curious types, then read on as we explain why your new moisturizing regime works best with our Face Toners.

What makes our Toners so special?

First of all, they are made from pure botanical hydrosol. Known as floral waters, herbal distillates, or cellular water, a hydrosol is the clear and beautifully scented product that is produced when flowers and herbs are distilled.

During the distillation process, steam moves through the plant and breaks open the structures that contain precious essential oils and other plant fluids. As the steam cools and condenses, the hydrosol that is left becomes a ultra anti-inflammatory liquid that boasts all of the benefits of essential oils, but with a higher water content. This makes it a gentler and lighter product that can be applied straight to the skin without dilution. All hydrosols contain approximately .04% of dissolved essential oils, as well as carboxylic acids (an organic compound that helps retain moisture).

Essentially, a hydrosol is a nutrient packed drink of water for your face.

Naturally derived hydrosols awaken your complexion, quench parched skin cells, and provide a soothing dose of absorbable nutrients that were once within the plant’s leaves and petals.

Which hydrosol is for you?

Our pure distilled plant waters include rose and spring date palm both of which are harvested seasonally from our gardens. Each hydrosol has different benefits and so we created two Toners for different skin types.

Quartz Toner

Activated by a clear Quartz crystal, this toner contains only rose hydrosol with licorice extract. Licorice is an astringent ingredient that helps cleanse pores and heal pigmentation. The antioxidant rich rose water has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, for cleansing and cooling the skin. This cleansing combination makes this toner ideal for Oily and Combination skin types.

Pearl Toner

This toner has a more complex formula with a combination of rose hydrosol, spring date palm hydrosol and sandalwood, that is activated by pearl powder. The addition of palm water has an added cooling and hydrating effect more suitable for Dry skin, whilst pearl powder has calming properties for Sensitive skin.
